Walt Disney World Resort

Known as Disney World by most people the Disney Resort is a wonderful place to visit. Much like most Disney parks only bigger and better and with more rides as well great attractions can be experienced there. Even though the resort is a Disney creation the difference can be told this one was different compared to the rest and offers a different side to the World of Disney.

Many attractions can be found there especially since there are four separate theme parks to choose from. If you visit Disney World you must try all four theme parks and experience the magnificent Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s MGM Studios. Disney World has more of a movie feel about it and you will enjoy the water parks as well.

Golf is also available with five eighteen hole golf courses offered at the resort. You can also find a nine hole beginners course and a thirty six hole golf course for you and your family to enjoy.  There are also cruises available and you can also get to experience many other attractions like Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney, Disney Boardwalk, and Disney Quest.

Great and exciting stuff to be found in Coney Island, located in Brooklyn, New York City. The Island rides are fun to ride and there many games one can play there like ball tossing, shooting and throwing games, as well as tossing skills, skeeball and a sideshow. The rides and attractions are free for all, no payment is necessary.

You also get to enjoy the sandy beaches of New York in Coney Island. Most tourist visit Coney Island for its amusement rides as well as to see some of the older rides that existed back in the day like the Thunderbolt that was constructed in 1925 and the Tornado which was constructed in 1926. History can be found in Coney Island like the famous Coney Island hotdog which is still served by the same restaurant Nathan’s that created the hotdog in 1916.

Coney Islands Amusement park was one of the largest amusement area in America that was before Disney World came up and if you are out to have a great time then it is the place to visit while you are in New York. Enjoy its Steeplechase Park, Luna Park or Dreamland which offer haunted houses, bumper cars, roller coasters and much more. This is a great place to take your kids for a nice holiday or for a fun weekend.

Come visit Big Sur where beauty meets the rugged sea. Known as the greatest place where land meets sea, Big Sur is a sight you do not want to miss seeing. Big Sur offers you amazing scenery and natural grandeur that you will not want to walk away from. The natural abstinence of the Sur will keep you coming back for more.

Big Sur offers you a magnificent view of the Santa Lucia Mountains which have risen from the Pacific Ocean to create the Big Sur. The atmosphere of the Sur is amazing and brings forth with it great scenery. Enjoy the lovely hills and paths that are provided by the state parks found in Big Sur. See the migration of the Grey Whales who are heading to Mexico to breed.

Best time to visit would be between July and August because you get to go hiking, camping, take nature walks and enjoy campfires, however spring is also a terrific time to visit the Big Sur because the hills become alive with wildflowers and California Poppies. Big Sur also gives you the pleasure of walking on sandy beaches and lots more exciting things to do.

California is the United States largest distributor of wine and that is why it is known as wine country. Primary wine country is the Northern part of California and there is where you will find fields of vineyards all over the place. It is a beautiful place to visit especially if you like wine. The major counties that are in wine country would be Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, as well as Mendocino and Lake Counties. There are other communities also associated in wine country.

The tourism industry in wine country is experiencing a major boom as several tourist flock to Wine Country get a taste of the magnificent wine that is being produced everyday. Summer is when you will find many people in wine country; some come for the beautiful scenery other just for the romantic atmosphere but most people are there because of the wine. Wine Country is where you will find America’s top produce of wines and a whole lot of vineyards.

Visit wine country and sample some of it magnificent and tasteful wine. Carry some with you home but be careful not to drink to much wine and drive off the road. There are a lot of activities offered in the orchards as well as the vineyards. You get to have lots of fun as well as free tours and wine tastings. You get to enjoy the picturesque scenery and the lovely restaurants that are there, some are even open restaurants so you get to eat with a view.

Visit the Utah-Arizona border and there you will find one of mankind’s greatest achievements, the man-made reservoir Lake Powell which is on the Colorado River. The lake which was formed by the flooding of the Glen Canyon which was a creation of the government’s controversial Glen Canyon Dam and the Glen Canyon Bridge which saw both finished by 1963 and then came seventeen years to fill the dam which came to be known as Lake Powell. A small town arose from the creation of the lake known as Page, formed by the construction workers who worked all those years creating the lake.

One of the United States popular summer vacations is Glen Canyon National Recreation Area which is where you will find Lake Powell. With 2000 miles of beautiful fishing shorelines, the lake provides a great place for fishing enthusiast who want to fish for the largemouth bass, the small bass and the smallmouth bass which can be found at the lake in large numbers. The peacefulness of the lake provides a romantic background as well calmness. Notable places to see at Lake Powell would be the Defiance House ruin, the Kaiparowits Plateau, the San Juan goosenecks, the Rainbow Bridge National Monument, Three-Roof Ruin and many others.

The lake captivates and provides for a number of activities that take place there like the Lake Powell National Golf Course Championship. The lake offers culture as well as urban recreation spots. If it is geography you a looking for then Lake Powell can offer you a variety of features to see as it flows into the San Juan River and the Escalante River which provide it with natural resources for tourist viewing pleasure. You can also get to see reminders of cultures that lived around there like the Ansazi.

Valley of Fire in the Nevada desert

Las Vegas, Nevada is famous for its gambling and casino’s as well as for being the Sin City, but there is also another site there that one has to check out while visiting the Nevada desert, it is the Valley of Fire State Park. As Nevada’s oldest State Park, the Valley of Fire is one of Las Vega’s hot spots to visit while you are there. The parks volcanic rocks and red sandstones formations are what to look for while you are there and when the sun is shining they look like they are on fire and it is a site to see.

Now 150 million years old, the sandstone formations can be dated back to the time of the dinosaurs. You can also get to view limestones, conglomerates and shales.  Named after the sandstones that it represents the Valley of Fire the park has lots to offer and has been a popular location for the film industry with films like Star Trek, the Professional, Domino, and Criss Angel have shot parts of their movies there.

With so many tourists visiting the park the site Valley of Fire offers great camp sites, picnic sites, hiking trails as well as great photography sites that one should not miss.

Have you been to a cave that is so dark and long that you never think it will end? Well central Kentucky offers you the chance to see the longest cave in the world named Mammoth Cave and it is the home of the eyeless albino endangered species of shrimp since 1983, the Kentucky Cave Shrimp. Known for its well preservation of wildlife the Mammoth Cave was made the World Heritage site in 1981 and it was declared a National Park on July 1st 1941. It would go on to become an international Biosphere reserve.

With two million tourist visiting the Mammoth Cave National Park every year, the park offers famous features that are a must see like the Frozen Niagara, the Grand Avenue and Fat Man’s Misery. The walls of the cave have been put lighting so as to show its magnificent beauty which one has to see to believe. The tours usually last for almost two hours due to the length of the cave and has two sides the electric lit route and the paraffin light which one carries on his own make it even more mysterious and exciting. There are also thirteen tours offered in different parts of the cave which cost vary according to where you want to go.

There is a lot to do at the Mammoth National Park. There are hiking trails through the woodlands which are above the caves and are a beautiful site to behold. You can also camp as well as use your R.V there. If you are a backpacker you can get a chance to camp in the different area of the National; park after you get permission first. The wildlife in the caves is of fish, crickets and bats of which there are 130 different species of cave life forms.

Located in Wyoming, the Grand Teton is one of the largest mountains in the United States, infact it is the second highest in Wyoming and highest within the park. With its photogenic look the National Park offer great view points of the mountain as well as various variety of wildlife and beautiful surroundings where you can see the animals in their natural habitat.

The mountain which its highest peak is 13,770 feet can be climbed through two main routes but you can also use several other routes to climb the mountain. There is the Owen Spalding route which is the most commonly used one due to the fact that it is the easiest route to use and the Exum Ridge route. Mountain climbing adds flavor to the park and offers bouldering and alpine trekking. You can also go skiing and have a variety of slopes to choose from.

There is a lot one can do at the Grand Teton National Park like camping, lodging as well as view the natural wildlife. Various animals can be found at the park like the grizzles and black bears, as well as moose, elks, bison, and more than three hundred species of birds which includes peregrine falcons and bald eagles. If you want to experience the old west or get away from it all then a visit to Grand Teton Park is what you need. You get to ride horses, you get to try out river rafting weather you want calm or white water rafting there are both there for your pleasure.
